NewsAsian moot stresses resumption of Afghan peace process
ISLAMABAD: A joint communiqué released after the ‘Heart of Asia’ conference that saw a high-profile presence of three major players of the South Asian region, exhorted the member countries to play their effective role towards chocking the sources of funds for terrorist outfits.
The communiqué further stressed upon resumption of Afghanistan peace process.
It proposed that all the stakeholders in Afghanistan be brought to the dialogue table and the peace process be resumed under Afghanistan’s lead.
The member countries including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and others agreed to respect one another. They also expressed commitment not to hurl accusations of terrorism towards one another.
The 'Heart of Asia' meeting, an annual gathering of Asian and other countries to pledge support to Afghanistan, is being hosted for the first time in Islamabad and is being attended by representatives from ten different countries.
