Nawaz for early finalising of national health programme

ISLAMABAD: Reviewing the progress of the National Health Insurance Programme, Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf called for simultaneously targeting poverty and disease.
Chairing a meeting on the programme at the PM House, the prime minister said the health insurance programme initiative is designed for seven deadly diseases, and it should be designed and implemented in a transparent manner. The prime minister called for effective use of technology for effective feedback and monitoring and called for extensive monitoring by NADRA.
“This programme will be as good as good is the monitoring system works,” said the prime minister. The prime minister was given a briefing by State Life Insurance and was informed that it was involved in executing the insurance programnme. PM Nawaz directed that before its execution, a comprehensive awareness programme be launched. Commerce Minister Khurrum Dastagir, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Saira Afzal Tarar, MOS for National Health Services, National Health Services secretary and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, PM Nawaz has said that his government was fully committed to the progress and development of Balochistan and adequate resources were being allocated for completion of several mega projects. Talking to a group of students from Cadet College Mastung at the PM House, the prime minister said Balochistan is an important province of the country and was being run efficiently by the provincial government; having members from a number of political parties.
Expressing satisfaction over the law and order situation in the province, Sharif said it was considerably peaceful now. He said though criminals could be found in any province, the situation in the province has improved a lot. The Balochistan of today is much better than what it was ten years back,” he maintained. He however, pointed that it was important that this environment of peace and brotherhood was strengthened and the pace of development accelerated and expanded to reach out to the remotest areas. He said a number of road projects were in different phases of completion from Gwadar to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding with their completion, the situation would improve and an era of prosperity and development would usher in.
The prime minister said it was also important that more educational institutions like cadet colleges, medical colleges and universities were set up to provide a highly educated manpower base for the country. He said his government has provided adequate resources for development projects in Balochistan and expressed the hope that upon completion, the country’s largest province would witness a significant change. Sharif said he viewed all provinces and areas of the country as equally important and recalled his several visits to personally see the pace of development. He said in the days ahead, there would be more focus on Balochistan and work on new projects would be initiated.
He advised the students to work painstakingly and show utmost respect to their parents and teachers who were striving hard to make them good citizens. He asked the students to keep in mind that their parents work hard to impart them quality education. Minister for Railways Saad Rafique was also present during the interaction.
