Justice Sajjad Ali Shah takes oath as 24th CJ of SHC

KARACHI: Justice Sajjad Ali Shah on Monday took oath as 24th Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC). Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan administered the oath.

Sajjad Ali Shah took oath of his office in Urdu language during a ceremony attended by judges and lawyers at Sindh High Court building.

He was among those judges who had refused to take oath under PCO.

Born on August 14, 1957 at PAF Masroor, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah will be 24th Chief Justice of SHC. His father was an electronic engineer in PAF.

He received early education in different parts of the country and did his graduation from Government Islamia College, Karachi. He obtained degree of Bachelors of Law in 1984 and did his Masters in Law in 1988 from S M Law College, Karachi.

After completion of studies, he started practicing at law in 1995. Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was appointed as standing council for government of Pakistan in 2002 and thereafter as Deputy Attorney General for government of Pakistan in 2004. He was elevated to the bench of SHC on October, 24, 2005.
