Polling for LB elections concluded in some districts of Punjab, Sindh
KARACHI: The polling in 44 union councils of Sindh and 57 of Punjab for Local Bodies election where polls were postponed earlier has been concluded on Thursday.
Vote count is underway as the polling began at 7:30 AM and continued till 5:30 PM in 21 districts of Punjab and 15 districts of Sindh.
Twenty-one districts of Punjab include Lahore, Qasur, Nanka Sahib, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Attock, Bakhar, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Vihari, Bahawalnagar, Chiniot, Gujranwala, Khanewal, Sialkot, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Narowal.
Sindh includes Khairpur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Hyderabad, Noshero Feroz, Tando Allayar, Tharparkar, Thatta, Sajawal, Mirpur Khan and Karachi East and Karachi West.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has postponed re-polling in Sanghar and Badin districts scheduled for today on the request of Sindh government. The new date for elections will be issued after law and order situation improved.
The electoral body had adopted all necessary measures for peaceful and transparent polling process.
