PPP wins three UC chairman seats, six DC seats in re-polling in Tharparkar
MITHI - Pakistan People Party further strengthened its position in District Tharparkar by winning three seats of chairman union council and grabbing six seats of district councilor in re-polling conducted in different UCs of the district on Thursday.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results out of 56 union councils, where elections had been held so far, 50 candidates of PPP have been elected as district councilor (DC), while Thar Ittehad led by Arbab Ghulam Rahim managed to get six seats only.Whereas, elections in six more UC’s and Municipal committee Mithi would be held on December 30.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results Sikander Ahmed of PPP’s elected chairman Union Council Kantio by getting 5253 votes while his opponent Muhammad Manjhi of Thar Ittehad got 4101 votes.
From the same UC Yudhishter Maheshwari of PPP elected district councilor by securing 5149 votes.In UC Sarhorr, PPP's candidate for chairman Moula Bukhsh Lund got 2230 votes while his opponent opponent Hussain Rahmoon received 2072 votes.On the seat of DC, Moosa Rahmoon of PPP declared successful by getting 2233 vote.
In ward 4 of the UC Sarhorr Ali Nawaz Lashari of PPP returned with 644 votes. In UC Dahli, PPP candidate for Chairman Ameer Ali Rahmoon got 1602 votes and returned successful.In UC Tarr Ahmed, PPP Muhammad Khan got 2488 votes, in UC Qamarhar Muhammad Ramzan of PPP received 2383 votes, in UC Kalario Nazeer Ahmed of PPP grabbed 1850 votes and in UC Tarr Dous Mubarak Samoon of PPP got 2213 votes and elected as district councilor.While from ward 4 of UC Fant Muhammad s/o Shahmeer Lund of PPP won by securing 511 votes.
Polling was postponed again at two polling stations of UC Mithrrio Charan as ballot papers reached there were not sufficient.
