PM orders to mobilise all resources to improve security situation in Punjab
LAHORE - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting in Lahore to discuss different development projects and security situation in Punjab.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, and senior provincial officials from Counter Terrorism Department were present in the meeting.
On the occasion, Punjab home secretary and Inspector General of Police briefed the participants about the law and order situation in the province.
The prime minister directed the concerned authorities to mobilise all resources to maintain law and order in the province. He also directed to expedite implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) to counter terrorism.
He said that protection of public lives and property was the government’s top priority. The meeting was likely to take important decisions regarding registration of religious seminaries and its students.
