‘Pakistan, Saudi Arabia desirous of global peace’

KARACHI - The passing out parade of 104th Midshipmen Commissioning and 13th SSC course of Pakistan Navy was held in Karachi on Saturday.

Saudi Naval Forces Vice Admiral Abdullah Al Sultan was the chief guest. Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, the Saudi navel chief said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had unanimity of views on regional and international issues. He said that the two countries were desirous of global peace and stability. They were committed to eliminate extremism and terrorism from the region.

He said eradication of terrorism would bring progress and prosperity to the region. He said that cooperation between the naval forces of the two countries would be further strengthened through joint exercises and other steps.

Appreciating the training standard at Pakistan Naval Academy, he said that he himself got training from the same academy.

Earlier, the Saudi vice admiral and Pakistan’s naval chief jointly inspected the parade.

A total of eighty-eight cadets, including twenty-two foreigners and two women passed out in the ceremony.

Pakistan Navy is providing training to cadets of ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, Qatar, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan.
