Balochistan CM resigns under Murree Accord

QUETTA - Acting according to the terms of the Murree Accord, Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Wednesday tendered his resignation to Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai.
After the resignation of Dr Baloch, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo also presented his resignation to the provincial secretariat.
As per sources, Bizenjo had given his resignation citing personal reasons after consulting his party. The provincial assembly’s deputy speaker had also tendered his resignation.
The Balochistan Assembly will call its session tomorrow where it is expected to elect the two vacant posts. It is pertinent to mention here that according to the Murree agreement, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri will become the next chief minister.
Under the coalition arrangement between the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and the National Party, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch was elected unopposed as chief minister for a period of two and a half years in June 2013.
