Modi leaves for India
LAHORE – India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday left for New Delhi after meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here at Jati Umra, local media reported.
“Infusing a positive spirit in the neighbourhood, PM Narendra Modi departs from Pakistan after a few hours in Lahore,” India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.
"Looking forward to meeting PM Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today afternoon, where I will drop by on my way back to Delhi," Modi tweeted this afternoon. He had also wished Nawaz on his birthday in a telephonic conversation.
The Indian prime minister was accompanied by 120-member delegation – including Adviser on National Security Ajit Doval. The meeting at Jati Umra saw Modi’s interaction with Nawaz’s family.
