Ex-CJ Iftikhar forms party, promises ruthless Ehtesab
ISLAMABAD: Former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has announced his political party named the Pakistan Justice Democratic Critic Party (PJDCP).
While nominating himself as the president of the PJDCP, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that corrupt people had no place in his party, adding that it would do across-the-board and ruthless accountability (Ehtesab) after coming to power.
While talking at the launching ceremony of the Pakistan Justice Democratic Critic Party in Islamabad on Saturday, the former chief justice said that his party would only welcome non-corrupt people, stating that the main purpose of his party was to solve the problems of the people.
He said that his party would work on a 25-point-agenda, including health, education and land reforms. Provision of justice to the common man would be the basic manifesto of his party, he added. The ceremony was attended by lawyers, civil society members and others.
Earlier, Justice (retd) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had said that he would announce his political party and manifesto on December 25.
