Benazir Bhutto being remembered on 8th death anniversary
KARACHI/GARHI KHUDA BUX: The eighth death anniversary of former prime minster and Pakistan Peoples Party head Benazir Bhutto will be observed on Sunday (today) across the country.
Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007, immediately after addressing a public gathering at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will donate blood at the Naudero House in Larkana along with other central and provincial party leaders and later address a huge public meeting at Garhi Khuda Bux.
A meeting of the central executive committee (CEC) of the party is also scheduled to be held under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto. The meeting will discuss national issues and party affairs, particularly the federal government’s notification regarding extension in Rangers’ policing powers in Karachi.
PPP workers and leaders from across the country are arriving at Garhi Khuda Bux to pay homage to their leader. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Bakhtawar Bhutto, MNA Faryal Talpur, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Speaker Agha Siraj Durani and cabinet members have already reached the Naudero House.
