Key criminal involved in Lahore gang-rape case still not arrested

LAHORE - Police personnel on Sunday completed the DNA test of detainees involved in molestation of a 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly intoxicated and raped by as many as six to seven persons in a guest house on Mall Road in Lahore on December 25.
Meanwhile, police have also conducted raids while tracing the location of key suspect Adnan’s mobile network. Security personnel acting on directives have held various operations in different districts. However, the suspect has still not been taken into custody.
Earlier, gang rape victim - 15-year-old girl - recorded her statement before the police in which she said the key criminal claimed to be Education Minister Rana Mashood’s personal staff officer (PSO).
Mashood has denied having any knowledge about the alleged culprit. DIG Operations Wing said three teams have been formed to investigate the case. He further said police are raiding different areas in Lahore to apprehend the criminals.
Police had arrested six suspects after launching a case in Race Course Police Station. The criminals will be presented before a court on Monday. On December 25, a youth was allegedly intoxicated and raped by as many as six to seven persons in a guest house on Mall Road. The victim was shifted to a hospital where the medics confirmed sexual assault.
The girl, belonging to Rana Town area of Multan Road had gone to see a tailoress along with her brother. According to her mother, she went missing from there on and later was reported to have been raped.
