Rangers not on agenda of Nawaz’s visit to Karachi
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will spend a busy day in Karachi today (Monday) but he would not attend any meeting pertaining to security or with regard to the Rangers’ deployment dispute. The sources in the Prime Minister House told The News here on Sunday evening that Nawaz will attend three separate functions during his daylong stay in the metropolis. He will proceed to Port Qasim where he will the inspect development project related to the port and then attend a meeting where the progress and performance of the port would be reviewed. The Port Qasim Authority will give the Prime Minister a briefing about its working and performance. He will also inspect a site in the Port Qasim.
Nawaz, who will be reaching Karachi from Lahore about 10 in morning, would be received by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other senior officials. The Prime Minister will be guest of honour in the annual function of distribution of awards and trophies in the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries of Pakistan (FPCCI) and later he will be returning to Islamabad in the evening. Sources said that Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan wouldn’t be accompanying the Prime Minister.
