The campaign was launched in Shah Faisal Colony. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London activists also reached the scene and raised slogans in favour of their party chief.
However; no unpleasant incident occurred on the occasion. During a press conference, Akhtar vowed to wipe out ‘garbage’ from the provincial capital by end of 2017.
He also urged the women to participate in the campaign. MQM leader Farooq Sattar also began the campaign in Gulshan Iqbal – after sweeping the road with a broom. He told the media persons that all the work will be done without any political influence.
