Egypt moves to enhance defence ties with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisiin Cairo on Thursday.
Underlining the close relations between the peoples of the two countries, President El-Sisi emphasised to strengthen bilateral cooperation between both the nations, a statement stated.
He said that the relations in all the domains, especially indefence production, should be undertaken and added that both the countries may benefit from each other's expertise.
The Egyptian president called for greater cooperation among the countries to face contemporary challenges besetting the Muslim community, globally.
Egypt evinced keen interest in acquiring Pakistani-made JF-17 Thunder aircraft among other military equipment, defence equipment and agreed to exchange top level delegations to work out modalities for further cooperation.
Later, Ambassador of Pakistan Mushtaq Ali Shah hosted a dinner for the Hussain which was attended by his Egyptian counterpart and senior officials from the ministries of defence and foreign affairs.
