Preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations in full swing

KARACHI/LAHORE/ISLAMABAD/PESHAWAR: EidMilad-un-Nabi celebrations were in full swing across the country to mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, on Sunday.

A 75 feet tall and 7 feet wide cake weighing 12,000 pounds was prepared in Multan. The cake took a total of 12 days to prepare and as many as eight people were involved in producing it.

In Chaman at Sahab Agha Darbar, 1,200 goats were sacrificed and the sacrificial meat was distributed among the needy. In the event, people from Afghanistan also took part in a large quantity.

Streets and buildings in Rahim Yar Khan were decorated with green flags as well as green lights were lit up to mark the occasion.

Rallies and processions will be taken out tomorrow in all major cities of the country.
