Murad says he's responsible for cleaning up Karachi
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah stated on Sunday that he was responsible for keeping the city clean, as he visited various parts of the city to inspect development work being done in Karachi.
Murad Ali Shah said that five development projects had been initiated by the provincial government. While speaking to media personnel, he said that he takes the ownership of Sindh and stated that he wanted to see development work completed before the next elections.
The chief minister said work would also be done in relation to the peace and security situation of Karachi. Murad Ali Shah said work on water projects would be completed in four months while six big projects, to repair roads in the province, have been started.
Replying to a question the chief minister said that the 100 MGD Dhabeji Pumping station work which he had started on Saturady would be completed within four months.
"I also assure you that Rs 10 billion Karachi package which may cost more than the approved amount would be completed by the end of July," he said.
He added that work on widening of Shahrah-i-Faisal has also been taken up by the contractor. The portion from airport to Quaidabad has been taken up. Murad Ali Shah said that the road from Jamshoro to Sehawan was in bad condition.
Murad paid tribute to his party and credited the leadership for bestowing him with the honour of making him the chief minister.
"It is PPP which has given me this honour (chief ministership), and I am serving people of this province because it is part of its manifesto and it is the commitment of the party with the people," he said.
