Team of nine international officials begin air crash probe
A nine-member investigation team on Tuesday (today) visited the crash site of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-661 in Havelian.
The team comprises of three French officials and three Canadian officials of French aircraft manufacturer ATR and US based engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney.
The team has been jointly working with three members of Pakistan’s Safety Investigation Board (SIB) to ascertain the cause of the 7th December crash.
The black box and voice recorder of the aircraft will also be sent to France to begin the probe. The French embassy has issued directives to facilitate travel and other arrangements of the experts engaged in the investigational probe.
The team is currently interviewing eyewitnesses of the crash and rescue teams which arrived on the site immediately after the incident.
