PK-661 air crash: 11 bodies being transported to Chitral

RAWALPINDI: 11 dead bodies of the victims of the tragic PK-661 air crash were sent from Rawalpindi to Chitral on Saturday morning.

According to PIA spokesperson Danyal Gilani, the dead bodies were loaded onto a c-130 aircraft. Relatives of the victims were also aboard the aircraft, which was headed to Chitral from Nur Khan Airbase.

PIA spokesperson Danyal Gilani was also on board with the relatives of the victims who had died in the tragic air crash.

Rs 5.5 million has been announced as support fund including insurance for the survivors of each victim. Earlier Friday, bodies of four residents of Chitral were shifted using C-130 aircraft.

Flight PK-661 had taken off from Chitral around 3:50 pm on Wednesday, December 7 and PIA said the plane crashed at 16:42 local time (11:42 GMT) in the Havelian area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 125 km north of Islamabad.

Prominent singer-turned-evangelist Junaid Jamshed was also among the victims who had died in the air crash, who was one of the passengers along with his wife Neha Jamshed. Fuenral prayers for both were offered on Thursday.
