PIA sacrifices black goat before ATR flight
ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) may have cleared the ATR planes for regular flying operations but the clearance seems a half-job done for the authorities as they resorted to slaughter a black goat to ward off any unfortunate incident again.
According to reports, the goat was slaughtered moments before an ATR took off for first time after shakedown tests. The ‘ritual’ took place before Multan-bound flight left the Islamabad airport.
It is pertinent to mention that the PIA had grounded its entire ATR fleet after CAA ordered a detailed check-up for all ATR aircrafts after one of its ATR crashed near Havelian while operating a scheduled domestic flight from Chitral to Islamabad.
