Gen Bajwa meets Saudi King Salman

RIYADH: The Chief of Army Staff, Gen Qamar Jawed Bajwa called on Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the ISPR said in a statement on Sunday.

The COAS, on his first overseas official visit, met Saudi leadership and discussed matters of mutual interests and cooperation.

“King Salman and General Bajwa agreed that Pakistan and Saudia Arabia share great history of cordial relations and deep spirit of brotherhood”, it added.

Acknowledging that Pakistan and the Kingdom are vital players in regional stability, with significant responsibility towards the entire Muslim ummah, they re-emphasised need to continue working to eliminate menace of terrorism and reinforce mechanism to roll back extremism with greater vigour.

The army chief also met Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and reiterated Pakistan's commitment to security and protection of the Holy Mosques and also the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

Prince Mohammad ‘reassured Saudia’s supports for peace and stability in Pakistan in every way’.

In meeting with Chief of General Staff of Saudi Forces, Gen Abdur Rehman bin Saleh Al Bunyan, the COAS discussed military cooperation and they both agreed to boost the collaboration between the two armed forces.
