Ahmed Shah-Ejaz Faooqui panel wins Arts Council elections
KARACHI: Ahmed Shah-Ejaz Farooqui panel has won with heavy majority the annual elections of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, announced Commissioner Karachi late Sunday night.
Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Khan was the Chief Election Commissioner for the elections.
The Commissioner Karachi announced that candidates of Ahmed Shah-Ejaz Farooqui panel won President, Vice President, Secretary and 12 seats of the governing body.
Muhammad Ahmed Shah has been elected President by securing 1,992 votes while Athar Waqar Azeem secured 1,863 votes to be elected vice president.
Ejaz Farooqui of the winning panel was elected Secretary. He secured 2,010 votes.
It may be noted here that Ahmed Shah-Ejaz Farooqui panel has been winning the elections for the past few years.
