Govt making plans to control growing population: Maryam Aurangzeb
By: OnlineISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information Maryam Aurangzeb has said that government is making plans pertaining to growing population in the country.
While addressing a roundtable conference on targets for sustainable development in the federal capital, she said, “We will achieve all targets for the development and prosperity of the country. There should be no politics over achieving development targets and the provinces should play their role to ensure timely implementation of policies.”
Under Vision 2025, he said, the government has set targets under the international framework while targets for human development, mother and childcare have also been fixed.
She said terrorism lasted for 30 years but it could not dampen the nation’s courage, adding that the progress in education and health would continue unabated. Calling population census, she said it is a sensitive and crucial issue but the announcement by the prime minister to hold it on a specific date is encouraging.
