‘CPEC to enhance Pakistan’s regional importance’

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan will become the most important country of the region after completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
He was talking to a delegation of Qatar, led by Energy Minister Mohammed Saleh Al Sada, in Islamabad on Thursday.The president said that CPEC would benefit all the countries of the region, adding that most of the central Asian states are interested in CPEC.
Mamnoon Hussain said that the future of Pakistan is bright. He said that by 2018 most of the development targets would be achieved.Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also present on the occasion.
The president said that the people of Pakistan hold Qatari’s very close to their heart and the two countries enjoy cordial relations. He expressed satisfaction that both countries support each other on international forums.
The president offered to provide skilled and semi-skilled manpower to Qatar for preparation of FIFA World Cup 2022.
President Mamnoon said that import of LNG from Qatar will benefit Pakistan significantly and help to overcome its energy deficit. He emphasised upon regular exchange of delegations in the fields of trade and culture to bring the people of two countries even closer.
Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sadaon the occasion said that Pakistan is an important country and Qatar wishes to further enhance bilateral trade which should be commensurate with the excellent relation at the political level.
He said that the government and the people of Qatar have deep rooted respect for Pakistan and his government is keen to further expand this partnership in the energy, services and other sectors.
He praised the contributions of Pakistani expatriates in Qatar and acknowledged that they are serving Qatar whole heartedly like their own country.
