SRINAGAR: Hurriyet leaders have termed New Delhi’s attempts aimed at changing Jammu and Kashmir’s demography as unacceptable. The leaders have said that the Kashmir dispute has to be resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
The Mirwaiz-led forum said that the sacrifices of the martyrs had once again brought the Kashmir dispute to at the forefront in the international arena. According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), in a statement issued by Hurriyet leaders, they said that the Hurriyet is duty-bound to safeguard the sacrifices of Kashmiri people. The statement added that the organisation was promise-bound to work towards the resolution of the Kashmir issue by peacefully carrying forward the resistance struggle in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris.
Several delegations of Hurriyet leaders visited areas of south, north and central Kashmir. Addressing people on the occasion, they vowed to oppose the move to change the disputed nature of the territory. They paid rich tributes to the youth martyred in firing by the Indian forces during the ongoing resistance movement.
