ECP to hear PTI’s petitions against PPP, PML-N on Tuesday
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) petition regarding foreign funding against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) will be heard by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday.
A five-member bench headed by ECP Chief Justice Sardar Raza will hear the petitions.
PTI leader Farrukh Habib alleged in the petitions that the two parties were concealing their source of income and the companies registered by them abroad. He also asked ECP to cancel their election symbols because they violated the legal requirements to be eligible for election symbols.
In its verdict on the petition filed against PTI on the allegations of foreign funding, the Supreme Court (SC) said that the matter would be sent back to ECP for investigations.
