Pak-India series not happening in near future, says Shahryar Khan
“In the current political climate, I do not believe that Pakistan and India will play against each other in the near future,” said Former PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan.
LAHORE: Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan has said he did not believe that Pakistan and India would be able to play against each other in the near future.
During an interview, the former PCB chairman said the real reason behind the absence of bilateral series between India and Pakistan was political and “had nothing to do either with the PCB or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)”.
“In the current political climate, I do not believe that Pakistan and India will play against each other in any time soon,” said Shahryar.
BCCI is not against the Pak-India series, but they have to get permission from the government of India, said Shahryar.
He said that Pakistan was ready to play with India at any venue, but it was Indian government who did not allow their team to play with Pakistan.
Commenting on the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the former PCB chairman termed the PSL as a “fantastic product”, adding the league is telling the world that their players can come to Pakistan without any fear of security.
