All stakeholders will be taken on board over new dams: PM
Terming the construction of dams in the country a ‘national cause’, Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said all stakeholders will be taken into confidence over the matter.
Talking to Federal Minster for Water Resources Faisal Vawda and WAPDA Chairman Muzamiil Hussain, who called him on at the PM Office, the prime minister urged the nation to play its role for construction of dams in the country, adding that the government is determined to resolve water scarcity issue which is threatening the future of the country.”Donation by overseas Pakistanis indam fund is a positive sign,” he added.
Highlighting the importance of construction of dams in the country, he said dams will bring prosperity in the country, as the new water reservoirs will also add to the electricity generation capacity.
The prime minister was also apprised about construction of dams and other projects being carried out by the water resources ministry.
Separately, while addressing Baloch students in the capital, prime Minister Imran Khan said the condition of Muslims in today’s India only goes to prove that the demand for a separate homeland was justified. “The way Muslims are treated today in India has made people realise now why Pakistan was achieved,” he said.
Speaking about the fight against terrorism, Imran said Pakistan will never fight someone else’s war nor succumb to any pressure in this regard.
Sources said Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Foreign Ministry to prepare reply to the President Donald Trump’s letter. In the response, Pakistan will assure its help to US on Afghan reconciliation process and will also suggest President Trump to take steps for resumption of Pak-US strategic dialogue.
