SC adjourns Babar Awan’s contempt hearing till Feb 09


ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan adjourned the hearing of Babar Awan's contempt of court notice till February 09 as the PPP leader did not appear before the court.

The SC on January 13 granted time till February 2 to former law minister Babar Awan to engage a counsel to defend him in a contempt of court case filed against him.

For addressing the controversial press conference, the court had also issued contempt notices to Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan and Adviser to Prime Minister Farooq Awan.
