Restore confidence of Baloch in fed: PML-Q
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Mushahid Hussain Syed have urged the government to immediately take concrete confidence-building measures (CBMs) to restore confidence of the Baloch people in the federation, saying that the recovery of missing persons in Balochistan should the first step in this regard. “To resolve the issue, recovery of all missing persons in Balochistan should be the first CBM, which may be followed by other measures to restore confidence of the people of Balochistan in the federation,” said a statement issued from the party office on Thursday. Condemning in strongest words the brutal murders of Nawab Akbar Bugti’s granddaughter and great granddaughter in Karachi, the PML-Q leaders said such incidents would only fuel public hatred for the federation. Both the PML-Q leaders termed the killing a national massacre and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. They asked the government to conduct an impartial inquiry into the incident and bring the culprits to justice. Chaudhry Shujaat said the Baloch people needed a healing touch, and “the government should immediately launch efforts” to resolve the issues that challenged the federation. staff report
