‘Kashmiris’ future should be decided as per aspirations’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee member Raza Haroon said on Saturday that Kashmir’s future should be decided as per the aspirations of Kashmiris and no resolution against their would be accepted.
Addressing a convention held in connection with the Kashmir Day celebrations at the MQM headquarters, the MQM leader said Kashmiris representatives should also be invited in the dialogue for resolution of dispute.
The speakers said that MQM adopted a clear opinion for the rights of Kashmiri people. “MQM Chief Altaf Hussain is committed to realise the hopes of Kashmiri people and Kashmir Day is celebrated every year at the party headquarter, Nine Zero,” they added.
Talking about the rights of Kashmiri people, they said royalty of Mangla Dam should be given to Kashmir, adding that the overseas Kashmiris send a huge amount of foreign exchange to Pakistan so they should be provided with special relaxation. MQM leaders demanded of the government of Pakistan and Kashmir to take solid measures for mitigating the problems of overseas Kashmiris. They also demanded of the authorities to devise appropriate strategy for utilising water reservoirs in Kashmir to produce electricity.
On the occasion, speakers also asked rulers to take measures for the progress of tourism sector in Kashmir. They talked about issues of Kashmir and headway attained so far for the resolution of dispute. They claimed that their programme was biggest among the events being held across globe to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
