Imran Khan smells deal in 20th amendment
ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan on Tuesday said the consensus among political parties over the proposed 20th amendment to the Constitution reeked of a deal, Geo News reported.
He said all the beneficiaries of NRO hatched a conspiracy against the country and the poor had to bear the brunt of it.
Imran Khan said the troika of President Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman caused damaged to the country.
He said Nawaz Sharif kept on trying to save the system while Fazl-ur-Rehman engaged in protecting Islam but both of them provided strength to President Zardari.
He said as the Memogate scandal drew pressure, Nawaz Sharif silently backed off from the issue.
Imran Khan said Pakistan suffered a loss of 50 billion dollars in the war on terror over the past 4 years and under the rule of present government in the same period of time the country's debt became double.
