CCI meeting discusses DRA
ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Council for Common Interests (CCI) is underway with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in chair to settle the issue of Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) with the provinces, Geo News reported.
The Federal Cabinet has convened the meeting.
The federal government came up with the idea of placing the matter before the CCI, a constitutional forum mandated to iron out differences among provinces or between provinces and the Centre on disputes, for a consensus of opinion.
During the meeting attended by all provincial chief ministers, federal ministers and senior officials, CII would examine a draft DRA establishment ordinance prepared by a special Senate panel headed by Abdul Haseeb Khan and submitted to Yusuf Raza Gilani on February 1.
