Not eager to become PM, says Amin Fahim

LAHORE: Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim said on Saturday he was not eager to become prime minister, adding that the PPP would wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict in a contempt of court case against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. “Decisions are not made in haste in democracy,” Fahim told the media at Lahore Expo Centre. He said that elections would be held after parliament completes its tenure. “A caretaker set-up will be formed with the consensus of the government and opposition,” the minister said after attending an exhibition of Indian products. About the memogate scandal, he said Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz should come to Pakistan if he thinks his statement in the standoff held importance. staff report
