China sees Pak-Afghan-Iran moot as a move toward regional peace
BEIJING: China said on Monday that the recent Pakistan-Iran-Afghanistan trilateral summit was conducive for people and the countries in the region.
When asked to comment on the Trilateral Summit hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad last week, Foreign Ministry's Spokesman, Hong Lei remarked that it is `conducive' for the relevant countries and people in the region to enhance coordination and cooperation to promote peace and stability.
Within the framework of trilateral cooperation, Presidents of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan held the Third Trilateral Summit in Islamabad on February 17.
According to joint statement issued at the end of the Summit, the three Presidents pledged to enhance cooperation among the countries to comprehensively realize the shared aspiration of their peoples for peace, security, stability and economic prosperity.
The three Presidents stressed the need for implementation of the earlier decisions taken at Trilateral Summits held in Tehran in May 2009 and June 2011. (APP)
