Moderate quake jolts northern Pakistan, Kashmir

QUETTA: Sources say a moderate 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Pakistan’s northern parts and Kashmir on Monday but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. The sources said that the quake was also felt at the Pak-China border area. A 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit the same area on October 8, 2005, and killed more than 73,000 people and left about 3.5 million homeless, mainly in Azad Kashmir and parts of northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. online
