Languages play chief role in promoting culture: Nawaz

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said that patronage of regional languages and local dialects played an important role in the promotion of national culture and civilisation. Local languages can leave a positive impact on education if adopted as the medium of instruction at the primary level. In his message on International Mother Language Day, Nawaz said that the languages spoken in Pakistan lent beauty and diversity to the culture and there was a need to protect them. He said that arrangements should also be made for setting up special academies where languages and dialects of other provinces could be taught. staff report
