End military operation in Balochistan: CPP

Staff Report

LAHORE: The Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP), urging the government to resolve the Balochistan issues through dialogue, has demanded it to end the military and Frontier Constabulary (FC) operation in the province.

The CPP central committee met at a local hotel on Thursday, after which its General Secretary Comrade Imdad Qazi issued a statement, in which he demanded the authorities to recover the kidnapped and missing people without any further delay. He said that judicial investigation should be launched into the killings of innocent Baloch people, adding that those responsible should be dealt with accordingly. He also urged the parties struggling for the rights of Balochistan and its people to avoid killings and damaging the assets of locals in reaction to the military or FC killings.

The CCP general secretary said his party’s main focus was on making efforts to ensure that the country became a democratic state, by not letting army interfere in political and administrative matters. Imdad said the CPP strongly condemned the resolution presented in the US Congress against Balochistan, adding that Pakistan should stop interfering in matters of Afghanistan and India. Earlier, the meeting passed a resolution, in which the party expressed grief and sorrow over the deaths caused by spurious medicines distributed by the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
