JC approves two nominees for SHC
ISLAMABAD: Judicial Commission (JC) Saturday granted approval to the nomination of two judges for Sindh High Court (SHC) and returned six other names. The commission also approved to regularize Additional Judge of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to give extension to another.JC met here with the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in the chair to review appointment of judges in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa high courts.
The commission approved to appoint Nadeem Akhtar and Shafi Muhamad as judges of SHC. The commission sent remaining six names back to Chief Justice SHC for more consideration.
JC also approved to regularize Additional Judge Yahya Afridi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to give extension to another Additional Judge Sajjad Shah till August.
The recommendations have been sent to Parliamentary Committee for final approval.
