LAHORE: Employees of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have called off their strike and the authority’s offices have reopened in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara districts.
The NADRA management regrets the inconvenience faced by the people during the strike and expressed the resolve that it was committed to serving the nation with dedication and hardworking, according a press release issued on Sunday.
NADRA has set up executive centres in various districts while the facility of mobile registration had been provided in rural areas, it said, adding that the NADRA employees were trying to resolve their problems besides serving the nation. NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik said the issue of regularisation of employees would be resolved within two weeks as a summary had been sent to the Ministry of Interior.
Talking to APP on Sunday, he said despite assurances that the process of regularisation was in the last stages, the protest of NADRA employees was not understandable. agencies
