Foes of Pakistan fanning sectarian violence: Malik
ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Wednesday said that enemies of the state were masterminding sectarian violence in Pakistan, Geo News reported.
He was briefing a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani here.
It was started from Karachi, he said, adding had the police been patrolling the area Kohistan massacre would not have happened.
During the meeting Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani directed Rehman Malik to immediately rush to Gilgit-Baltistan and help the administration control law and order situation in the aftermath of bus firing incident in Kohistan.
Chairing a meeting of federal cabinet, the Prime Minister instructed the Interior Minister to provide assistance to the Gilgit-Baltistan administration.
The Cabinet unanimously condemned the incident in Kohistan yesterday in which 18 people were shot dead by the terrorists. The Cabinet offered fateha and prayed eternal peace for the deceased and extended sympathies to the bereaved families.
