CJ takes suo moto of Waheeda Shah incident
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has taken suo moto notice of the Waheeda Shah incident.
Waheeda Shah, IG Sindh and the Election commission have been issued notices to appear before the apex court on March 2.
Shah a PPP candidate for by-elections had slapped an assistant presiding officer at a polling station in Tando Mohammad Khan.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had earlier withheld the result of by-election for PS-53, the constituency where the incident took place.
A case had also been registered against Shah on the directives of the Election Commission.
