Major Amir says he didn’t seek Maulana Abdul Aziz help for talks
ISLAMABAD: Major (retd) Muhammad Amir, a former intelligence official and a member of a committee recently constituted by the prime minister to assist in talks with Taliban militants, said on Saturday that he had not met Lal Masji cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz.
He said that he neither met the cleric nor sought his help. In a recent development, the Taliban have proposed Aziz as a member of the government committee besides Imran Khan, Maulana Samiul Haq, Mufti Kifayatullah and Professor Ibraheem.
