Bidding adieu to 2013 at YLC

KARACHI: Day 6 of the 12th annual Young Leaders Conference (YLC) ended on Tuesday.
The weeklong residential conference is divided in thematic days. With zeal and anticipation of the New Year, day 6 of YLC, was rightly themed “Hadaf” or target. The 350 youth that comprise YLC’s attendees were encouraged to review the year 2013, take a trip down memory lane and collect lessons from successes and failures of the year gone by.
Suleman Ahmer, who has worked extensively with refugee camps, spoke of the importance of living wholly in the present while giving due significance to the future and past. Celebrated sculptor, Amin Guljee and Tanzila Khan, a young activist working with special people imparted paradigm-shifting knowledge and provided fresh perspective to the 350-strong youth present.
Hammad Siddiqui, an author on career building, spoke about the importance of focus and dedication combined with timely decision-making in early stages of career development. Further mentoring the youth, Atif Sheikh, globally renowned social worker, shared information regarding scholarship and fellowship opportunities abroad available to Pakistanis.
