NAB submits references in OGRA scam, Sadiq appointment cases
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has submitted references of the cases pertaining to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) multi-million scam and the appointment of its former chairman Tauqir Sadiq in the accountability court on Tuesday, Geo News reported.
The NAB submitted the references after removing the objections raised by the Registrar Office during the earlier hearing.
In the reference about corruption and irregularities in OGRA, two former prime ministers- Yusuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf- have been nominated as accused in the case.
Aqeel Karim Dhedhi has also been made accused in the reference.
Former chairman of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Tauqir Sadiq was presented in the accountability court in OGRA corruption case on Saturday.
During the hearing, NAB officials pleaded for some more time in order to remove the objections raised against the reference.
The accused Tauqir Sadiq made a submission to the court that he has already been sent to the jail, while no reference against him has been filed thus far. He complained that the NAB officials haven’t informed him of the charges or papers as they say holding against him.
The accountability court Judge Mohammad Bashir said that no further laxity in the case would be tolerated and ordered NAB officials to file OGRA corruption case reference by February 4 and a copy of the same be given to Tauqir Sadiq. Later, the hearing was adjourned.
