US has nothing to do with peace talks, operation: Olson
KARACHI: US Ambassador Richard Olson said that militancy is an internal matter of Pakistan, adding that all the options including talks with or operation against the Taliban have nothing to do with the United States.
He said this in a meeting with Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman here Wednesday.
According to JUI-F spokesman Jan Achakzai, Maulana Fazlur Rehman during his meeting with the US ambassador said that Afghanistan may impact on regional peace and stability after 2014 which can also affect Pakistan, the JUI-F spokesman said.
Olson further said that it is up to Pakistan to decide how to tackle militancy in the country.
