Targeted operation to continue in Karachi: Sharjeel
KARACHI: Information Minister Sindh, Sharjeel Memon has called the attack on a police bus which claimed the lives of 12 policemen a reaction of the targeted operation against terrorists in the metropolis.
Talking to media outside the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Sharjeel said the targeted operation would continue in Karachi till the elimination of all terrorist networks. He said such attacks could not demoralize the police.
According to Memon several groups in Karachi are upset due to the targeted operation.
“There are several Taliban groups active in Karachi and an investigation into today’s attack was being carried out on different aspects.”
The provincial information minister added that no one had claimed responsibility for the attack.
A suicide attacker rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a police bus transporting over 50 policemen. The early morning attack claimed the lives of 12 policemen and left 55 injured.
