RAWALPINDI: Special Anti-Narcotics Court on Wednesday adjourned indictment of 12 accused – including former federal health minister Makhdoom Shahbuddin and Ali Musa Gilani, son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani – in the Ephedrine quota case until February 17.
Adjourning the hearing without any proceeding, Judge of the Special Court Akhtar Bahadur issued notices to the accused to appear before the court on the next date for indictment.
The court has already heard arguments from counsels of the accused and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
All accused were present in the court as at the previous hearing (February 4), the court had summoned guarantors of Ali Musa Gilani and Abdul Khaliq on absence of the accused.
Meanwhile, the court rejected a joint petition by accused Shahabuddin and Ali Musa Gilani for transfer of the case to Islamabad, pleading that it was not domain of the Special Anti-Narcotics Court.
