ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman has said that the key to resolution of all issues is with General Headquarters (GHQ) of Pakistan Army.
In an interview to a private TV channel, Fazl expressed these views to a question about the success of ongoing peace talks with the Taliban. He added the politicians are merely playing their role as public representatives. Criticising the PML-N led government, Fazl reiterated the significance of jirga system in resolving the issues in tribal areas, particularly of Taliban. “However, no one heeded my words,” the JUI-F chief said.
However, Fazl said the JUI-F supports government’s efforts for peace in the country. He admitted that TTP commander Baitullah Mehsud and Mullah Omar wrote him letters. The JUI-F proposed despite holding talks with the Taliban first. He said there was a dire need to address all militant groups in Pakistan. To a question, Fazl revealed none other than the Taliban themselves were involved in attacks on his life.
