Karachi: Funeral prayers of martyred policemen offered
KARACHI: Funeral prayers of the 13 police personnel who were martyred in a bomb blast at a police bus near Razzakabad Police Training Centre on Thursday morning have been offered at Aziz Bhatti Headquarters here.
The Director General Rangers the IG Sindh Police the Sindh Information Minister Muttahida Qaumi Movement leaders Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Adil Siddiqui and other senior officials attended the funeral prayers.
Earlier, Chief of city’s counter terrorism unit Raja Umer Khatab said the van had been parked on the hard shoulder along the bus route and was remotely detonated when the two vehicles were side by side.
The responsibility of the attack was claimed by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). A spokesman for the TTP says attacks will continue until a ceasefire is announced.
